Though the cake pops are available for purchase online, you can easily make them at home with a little bit of practice. With some lollipop sticks, cake, frosting or fondant, decorative candies and food coloring markers, you can have a blast just preparing the cake pops for the pet party.
If you're hesitant about testing your cake pop skills, a simpler alternative is to bake a pawprint-shaped cake by combining one large round cake with three or four small ones; or, use printed "'Littlest Pet Shop" circles to embellish decorative cupcake picks (see References).
Pet Food: Animal Snacks
Run with the pet theme by serving pet "food" in clean new pet food bowls: you can even label gummy worms "bird food," baby carrots "rabbit food" or goldfish-shaped crackers "cat food."
