Instructions
1. Visit "adoptions.petsmart.com." Click on "find adoptable pets."
2. Complete the "adoptable pets locator" form. Select "find a cat" from the search type. Choose the breed, age, sex, size and colors of your desired cat. You can also choose the distance you are willing to travel to pick up the cat.
3. Type your zip code into the form and hit "Enter." You will be taken to a page filled with search results matching your criteria. Browse through the profiles of all the cats up for adoption.
4. Choose your favorite cat to adopt. Click on the cat's profile and you will find the name of the animal shelter in which the cat is located.
5. Call or email the animal shelter to let them know you would like to adopt the cat.
6. Complete an adoption application. The adoption application asks you questions about your home and any other pets you may have.
7. Submit the application to the adoption agency. A representative from the agency may come to your house to inspect it and make sure it is fit for the cat.
8. Wait for the agency to decide if you are a good match for the cat.
