Build Your Own Free Virtual World

Virtual worlds are seen everywhere these days, from movies and video games to online groups. If you want to create your own virtual world for free in which you decide on backgrounds, characters and props, then you will need a 3D program. Most programs that would allow you to do this cost hundreds or thousands of dollars. This is why you should use Daz Studio. All you will need for Daz Studio are the figures and props, some of which can also be obtained for free.

Instructions

1. Go to Daz Studio. Download and install the freeware version of Daz Studio (don't get confused by the fact that they also have a slightly more powerful version for sale). Then decide what items you might want to use in your virtual world, such as people, buildings, plants, props and so on. Browse through the free areas of Daz3D and Renderosity to see if you can get what you need for free. If not, both Daz3D and Renderosity have a huge selection of items and figures you can purchase. Download what you need to your computer. Then install these items to the Daz Studio "Libraries."

2. Open the Daz Studio application. If a default scene opens when you start the program, select "File" and click "New." Now go to the "Libraries" on the right and browse through the category folders to find the items you loaded. First load any terrain, buildings and plants. Then load the main figure or figures. Next load any clothing items for the figure. These clothing items have been made specifically for the figure you are using.

3. Click on the "pose" tab at the top. Now use the "Power Pose" panel on the right to pose your figures. You do this by selecting a figure in the scene, and then selecting a body part on the "Power Pose" panel. Move the body part on the panel with the mouse and the corresponding part on the figure will move. Pose all your figures in this way.
