The Differences Between Pet Porters And Sky Kennels

Most airlines allow you to travel with dogs, given that they are in a kennel or porter.

A kennel is a necessity when traveling with your dog or cat, whether it is a short day trip or visit to the vet, or a longer trip such as an international flight. This method is the safest and most comfortable way to transport your pet. Both Sky Kennels and Pet Porters are produced by Petmate.

Pet Porters Features

Pet porters feature a heavy duty durable plastic construction, yet are lightweight. They are composed of two half shells--a bottom and a top--which easily connect with each other using plastic wing nuts. Both sides of the unit have air vents which allow the pet to see and breathe, while the interior absorbs moisture, keeping pets dry.

Sky Kennels Features

Sky Kennels feature a durable polypropylene construction, a chrome-plated steel door and a leak-proof bottom. Vents are built into the sides, and ventilation holes in the rear assure comfort of your pet and meet airline requirements. Food and water cups are included. Additionally, the bottom half can be used as a pet bed.

Pet Porters Models

There are four types of Pet Porter models which are Pet Porter, Pet Porter 2/Pet Porter Fashion and Pet Porter Deluxe Jr. Pet Porter models come in gray while Pet Porter 2 or Pet Porter Fashion models are available in a variety of colors, such as taupe or henna rinse.

Pet Porter Deluxe Jr. models are the smallest and least expensive models and have features such as dial-latch lock and raised floor. Pet Porters come in six sizes: small, medium, intermediate, large, extra-large and giant. All are approved for use on airlines.

Sky Kennel Models

Sky Kennels come in six sizes: small, medium, intermediate, large, extra large and giant. The sizes are slightly different than Pet Porters. All Sky Kennels are airline-approved.

There are additional add-ons that are available with these models, such as wheels to add to the crate for easier use, kennel pads or liners to keep your pet comfortable, and raised dog-crate flooring which keeps your pet clean and dry. Sky Kennels are light gray and are made with 25% recycled content.

Pet Porter Prices
