There are many interactive animal games on many different consoles.
With all the game systems out there, there are literally hundreds of games that feature animals of some kind. However, usually these games do not portray animals like they are in real life. Interactive animal games are harder to find, yet there is no need for discouragement as many games on several different gaming systems offer realistic, interactive animals that are fun and exciting to play.
DS Games
The Nintendo DS has many great interactive games for kids and adults alike. "Nintendogs" is one of the most highly rated animal games. In "Nintendogs," you are the owner of a dog that you must take care of and take to shows to make money. In "Purr Pals," you play the owner of a cat which you must care for on a daily basis. "Zoo Tycoon" is another interactive animal game that operates on another level. In Zoo Tycoon you play a zoo owner who must ensure that all aspects of the zoo are running properly. The Petz series of games offers players the chance to interact with a variety of animals, including: dogs, cats, fish, horses, tigers, monkeys and even dolphins.
Wii Games
The Wii console system also offers many great interactive animal games. "Jumpstart Pet Rescue" combines animal care with educational learning about math, vocabulary and letters. In "SimAnimals," you play a character who must seek out animals and befriend then. This is done by feeding, petting and otherwise interacting with the animals. The animals also interact with one another, which can be entertaining to watch. The Petz series of games also comes on the Wii console system. "Wild Earth: African Safari" is a simulation game in which the player is transported across an African safari to take pictures of the animals. Pictures are graded and points are awarded to the best pictures. "Pet Pals: Animal Doctor" is a simulation game based on an animal hospital. Players must care for animals and bring them back to health.
Computer Games
Several animal interaction games can be purchased for the PC. "Wild Earth: African Safari" also is available for PC playing. In "Fishdom," you operate several different aquarium tanks. The player earns money by selling fish and uses that money to improve the tank and add more fish. Many of the same games available on the DS and Wii consoles are also available in PC or Mac format. Many free online games also feature animal interaction that can be played on a computer.
