Littlest Pet Shop Birthday Cake Ideas

There are many ways to reinvent the traditional birthday cake.

Kids all over the world have fallen in love with Littlest Pet Shop. The Littlest Pet Shop is made up of five miniature animals who live in a miniature tree house inside a miniature pet store! If your child loves Littlest Pet Shop, she will love her Littlest Pet Shop cake even more! Does this Spark an idea?

Toy Toppers

Let's face it: Not everyone is a professional cake decorator, but we all want a beautiful cake for our child's birthday. All you really need for a novel cake that your child will enjoy is some Littlest Pet Shop pet toys. You can purchase them at most toy and variety stores, and you can either make your cake from scratch or purchase a plain cake from a bakery. If you choose to make it from scratch, simply ice the top of the cake, and add a boarder around the cake. If you're feeling extra artistic, you can write your happy birthday message on the top of the cake. Here comes the real fun! Arrange all those cute Littlest Pet Shop toys anywhere on the cake. The great part about this cake is that your child gets to keep all the Littlest Pet Shop toys that you decorated the cake with!

Dog Bowl

Another easy Littlest Pet Shop cake idea is dog bowl cakes. To make one, you will need to get brand new, clean, small dog bowls. You can also color coordinate the dog bowls with the Littlest Pet Shop toys. The idea here is to make the cake that is going into the dog bowls look like dog food. You can choose any type of cake for this; you can also switch up some of the ingredients to better suit your guests if need be. First, cut your cake of choice into cubes and put a few of them into each dog bowl. Then, pour chocolate pudding on top of the cubes. Add another layer of cake cubes and another layer of chocolate pudding on top of that. For the final topping, you can choose either cookie crumbles, or chocolate bar crumbles, or you can even crumble the leftover cake. Top each bowl with whichever topping you chose, and voila! A simple Littlest Pet Shop cake idea what your child and party guests are sure to love!

Character Cake

For the character cake, you can again either make your own or buy one from a bakery. First, you'll need a sheet cake. Find any picture of your child's favorite Littlest Pet Shop pet, making sure it's roughly the same size as your cake. Cut out your picture and lay it on top of the cake. Using a knife or a toothpick, trace your picture onto the cake. Cut on the line you traced with a sharp knife. Decorate your cake to match the picture. First ice the cake with the proper colors, then use an icing bag to draw in the details of the pet. Remember, it doesn't have to look perfect! Try to have fun with it.
