San Antonio Universities & Colleges

San Antonio, Texas, the seventh largest city in the U.S., is home to the Alamo and the Riverwalk. The city offers a mild climate and many outdoor activities as it sits at the base of the Texas Hill Country. San Antonio is also home to a number of public and private universities and colleges.


Trinity University


Trinity University is a private liberal arts school located on a hilltop campus just five minutes from the heart of downtown San Antonio. The university has an enrollment of 2,600 students studying 39 different undergraduate majors. Trinity University also offers five different master's degree programs in fields such as accounting, psychology and teaching. The university is particularly noted for its focus on the undergraduate experience, offering a residential college system. The finance program at Trinity is among the school's most heralded academic departments.


University of the Incarnate Word


The University of the Incarnate Word is a private Catholic University located on a 134-acre campus in the Alamo Heights area of San Antonio. The university offers bachelor's and master's degrees and is highly regarded for its pharmacology school, one of the few in the state of Texas. The University of the Incarnate Word also offers an ADCAP (Adult Degree Completion Program) that functions as the school's part-time, night school brand for working adults.


University of Texas at San Antonio


The University of Texas at San Antonio, colloquially called UTSA, is built on a 600-acre campus located on the city's northwest side. As a satellite of the University of Texas in Austin, UTSA is a full-fledged public, research institution. It boasts an enrollment of more than 30,000 students, with 25,000 of those being enrolled in the school's undergraduate program. UTSA offers 64 different bachelor's degrees, 47 master's programs and 21 doctoral degree programs. The school also houses a branch of the University of Texas Health Science Center.


St. Mary's University


St. Mary's University is the oldest Catholic university in the state of Texas and is set on a 135-acre campus. The school boasts a student body of approximately 2,500 undergrads and 1,500 graduate students. St. Mary's offers 44 undergraduate programs, 24 master's programs and two doctoral programs. The school is known for its professional programs in the fields of medicine, law and dentistry.
