Babbo


Babbo is an Italian restaurant owned by the Food Network's Iron Chef Mario Batali. The beautiful two-floor restaurant serves exquisitely prepared traditional Italian meals. Famous entrees include goat-cheese tortellini with dried orange and wild-fennel pollen and beef cheek ravioli.The eight course pasta tasting menu costs $69, while the traditional eight course tasting menu costs $75. Pair your meal with drinks from the full service bar. Make reservations well in advance.

Del Posto


Del Posto is co-owned by Mario Batali, who has raised the bar on fine Italian dining in New York City. Unlike Babbo, at Del Posto, Batali experiments with his dishes, aiming to create elegant versions of traditional Italian meals. Here, ravioli are filled with chestnut and Parmesan puree, served alongside pigeon and myrtle. Del Posto is not for the unadventurous diner. Make your reservations early, and bring your credit card; the seven course tasting menu costs $175 per person. Include wine for $300 per person.

Maialino


Maialino is located in the upscale Gramercy Park Hotel. This intimate Italian restaurant has garnered rave reviews from both critics and locals. Maialino serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Owner Danny Meyer populates the menu with unique interpretations of classic dishes. For breakfast, try the pancakes made with ricotta cheese. For dinner, sample the pasta served with eggs. Maialino has a full bar and an extensive and impressive wine list. Reservations are recommended, especially for dinner.
