Decorating A Teen Bedroom In Animal Print

Use images of real animals as inspiration for your room decor.

Create an animalistic habitat for your teen by utilizing animal print designs for bedroom decor. Discuss design ideas with your teen before purchasing animal print decor to avoid choosing the wrong prints or other items your teen does not want for her room. While it is often recommended that you stick to one type of animal print per room to avoid a "zoo" themed bedroom, a teen might enjoy a "safari" bedroom atmosphere. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Use one or multiple types of animal print for the room, depending on the teen's preferences. Ideas include zebra print, leopard print, alligator print, tiger print, cheetah, giraffe and snake skin prints.

2. Place animal print comforters, matching bedsheets, bed skirt, pillows and pillow shams on the bed, such as those that feature colored as well as traditional animal prints. For example, use a comforter in a "traditional" animal print, such as zebra, with pillows, bed skirt and sheets in purple or blue zebra print.

3. Match curtains with the bed by using purple or blue zebra print curtains, or black and white zebra prints.

4. Use chair cushions and large throw pillows or beanbag chairs that feature zebra or other animal prints. Add a few area rugs that feature complimentary animal prints where desired.

5. Frame animal print images as wall decor, or use framed artistic renditions of the animal that inspired the majority of the room decor, such as zebras in their natural habitat. Animal wall decals are another option.

6. Paint animal prints on wooden furniture in the room, such as the desk, wooden chairs, bedside tables and footstools.
