Delete Game Data
on DS Games
The Nintendo DS is a great device for curing boredom when on the road or away from home. Most DS games that allow you to save come with two or three different files to play on. When they are all fill and you feel like starting a game over from the beginning, it is key that you know erase the data before starting the new game.
Instructions
1. Insert game into DS and power up the system. Read the health warning then start up the game.
2. Go into the file select portion of the Main menu. All of your current files will be shown on the screen. From here, there are two ways to erase your files
3. Erase your file by going into the file. On the File Select screen, if there no option for "Erasing Data" or any way to go into the games "Options," then you must go into the file you wish to delete. Once in the file, there will be an option to erase the current file. Select the "EraseE button. Be warned, once a file is erased from the cartridge, it cannot be retrieved. Examples of games where you must be in the file to delete it are the two "The Legend of Zelda" games for the Nintendo DS.
4. Erase your file by selecting "Erase Data" or going into the options. On the File Select screen, if there is an option for "Erasing Data," then you must select this first before you can delete the file. Once you select this option, you can then select the file you wish to delete. Be warned, once a file is erased from the cartridge, it cannot be retrieved. An example of a game where you must select "Erase" before selecting a file is "Super Princess Peach."
