Rescue a Pomeranian
A Pomeranian is so cute and tiny. You can hardly imagine that someone would neglect, abuse, or abandon such a treasure. If you love the Pomeranian breed perhaps, you would consider offering a forever home to one of these dogs. It takes a time commitment, patience, and resourcefulness to care for a rescue dog. In return, your Pomeranian will offer you years of dedicated love and snuggles. How do you rescue a Pomeranian?
Instructions
1. Print several flyers that you create at home indicating that you want to rescue a Pomeranian dog. Be sure to include your name, address, and phone number. You may want to include a picture of a Pomeranian on your flyer. Take your flyers to area veterinarian offices and ask about placing them on their bulletin boards. Also take copies to area animal shelters, human societies, pet stores, breeders, and dog rescues.
2. Place an ad on http://www.petfinder.com, http://www.craigslist.org, and http://www.freepetclassifieds.com under pets wanted. While you are there, look under the classified ads for individuals trying to rehome their Pomeranians. Check back several times a week if possible.
3. Contact Pomeranian breeders in your state by email, phone, or mail them your flyers. Indicate to them that you want to rescue any Pomeranian including a retired breeder, rejected breeder, or an imperfect, or returned puppy. Breeders may require a pet adoption application. You can find local Pomeranian breeders at http://www.akc.org/breeds/Pomeranian.cfm
4. Visit or call Pomeranian and small dog rescues to let them know that you want to volunteer to rescue any Pomeranian in your area, including dogs from puppy mill raids. Rescues usually require an application that includes personal references, veterinarian information, a neuter contract, plus an adoption fee. Here are some Pomeranian rescues to contact. 5. Call or visit your area animal shelters, and check their websites often to look for a Pomeranian to rescue. Don't forget to have all of your supplies ready at home well in advance for your new rescue pet.
